A change in public policy is needed to meet our country’s growing EV charging needs. To date, policies have largely been dictated by power companies. However, the results have not yielded the best results for consumers. It’s time that all stakeholders – from electricity consumers and EV drivers to transportation infrastructure businesses and related industries – be heard. It’s unfair for power companies to build and operate EV charging stations that are paid for through home electric bills by lower income families, most of whom do not have EVs.
